Acquired Cerebral Achromatopsia Neuro Ophthalmol 14:31-36, Setala, K. & Vesti, E., 1994 See this aricle in Pubmed Article Abstract In cerebral achromatopsia, the patient loses the ability to see colours after cortical damage. As an only sequel to a stroke, cerebral achromatopsia is rare. Although the existence of a separate colour centre in the brain was postulated in the late 19th century, confirmatory data are quite recent. The authors describe a photographer who has lost the ability to differentiate colours, especially green, after right-sided cerebral infarction in the temporo-occipital region.
